Kazakhstan and China are joining forces for the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s first Khorgos International Convention. The theme of the event, which is being held on 3 September 2018 at IBCB Khorgos, is Logistics & Transport Co-operation for the Belt & Road Strategy.
Session One of the Khorgos International Convention is entitled Belt and Road – the Development of Logistics and Transport Infrastructure, and will be led by members of CILT China.
The forty-five minute session will begin with a presentation by Shan Yuanzhuang, Vice-President of the China Association of Policy Science. Under the heading On Making Great Efforts to Develop China-Kazakhstan “Complementary Industrial Economy” and “Complementary Logistics”, Shan Yuanzhuang will discuss the building of the “Belt and Road”, and the “Community of Destiny” it will create, as well as the work towards a solid foundation for China-Kazakhstan industrial co-operation. He will also discuss problems in the logistics industry that restrict the healthy development of China-Kazakhstan economic cooperation, and suggest countermeasures to these problems.
Shan Yuanzhuang has spent more than 20 years teaching and research in first-class universities across China. He was appointed as deputy Director of the China Equipment Management Training Centre by the State Economic and Trade Commission and the Ministry of Aerospace Industries in the early 1990s. Currently he is Vice-President of the China Association of Policy Science, an expert member of the National Policy Committee on “Outlook”, and Director of the Expert Committee of the Eurasian Land Bridge Logistics Branch.
Second to speak will be Song Xuexin, CEO of JCtrans Logistics Network, whose presentation entitled Assist “One Belt and One Road”, Build “CHINA RAILWAY Express” will on the impact of the “Internet +” government guidelines, and how the “One Belt and One Road” policy has influenced the construction of the CHINA RAILWAY Express. As well as being CEO of JCtrans Logistics Network, Song Xuexin is Chairman of the Dalian International Freight Forwarders Association.
The final speaker will be President of the Yuanfu Logistics Group, Li Jun, who will discuss The Map of Supply Chain along the Belt and Road. Mr Jun, a former VP of Zhejiang Dongyu Logistics, will focus on investment opportunities in supply chain along the Belt and Road, and outline the overall supply chain strategy of the Yuanfu group.
The Khorgos International Convention will take place on the 3rd of September 2018 at IBCB Khorgos, and consider the development of Belt and Road logistics and transport infrastructure, alongside schemes, skills and solutions for delivering the Belt and Road initiative in partnership.
Keynote speakers for the event are Mr. Wang Derong Professor, FCILT Executive Vice-Chairman, China Communications and Transportation Association, Mr. Kevin Byrne Lieutenant Colonel, FCILT International President, CILT, and Mr. Bakytzhan Kuanyshev Professor, Sc.D., FCILT President-Rector, Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communication. They will be joined by a distinguished selection of session speakers including Song Xuexin CEO, JCtrans Logistics Network Co. Ltd, Zhaslan Khamzin CEO, KTZE-Khorgos Gateway, Shan Yuanzhuang Vice-President, China Association of Policy Science, and Ian Mills Ports & Logistics Consultant, Lawrence Mills Ltd.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to take a Technical tour around the Kazakhstan side of the ICBC including the Railway station, Dry port, and Special Economic Zone, or go on a cultural tour around the Kazakh and Chinese sides of the ICBC for duty free shopping.
