When and why did you decide to become a member of CILT?

After I graduated from the University, I joined the Hong Kong Government Transport Department, and to obtain the professional qualification from CILT is a must for all professional grades in the department.

What are the benefits of being a member of CILT?

CILT gives me professional recognition, and as a global organisation, it also exposes me to top transport leaders around the world.

Get yourself actively involved in the activities and Continuous Personal Development programmes organised by your local branch, and seek out mentorship opportunities. The Institute is an important resource for you.

What difference has being a member of CILT made to your career?

I earned my promotion to a senior rank in the Hong Kong Transport Department once I got my Chartered membership, but more important is that as a regulator of all transport services in Hong Kong, upholding professional standards has helped me to communicate effectively with major public transport organisations under a common vision.

What do you think the future holds for you and CILT?

CILT in Hong Kong has established a strong hold among public transport operators, shipping and the logistics trade, academic institutions and within the government sector.

What message would you give to someone just starting out in CILT?

To someone who just starting out in CILT, please bear in mind that obtaining professional qualification is not the end, you must get yourself actively involved in the activities and Continuous Personal Development programmes organised by your local branch, and seek out mentorship opportunities. The Institute is an important resource for you.
