Our next international webinar will take place on Wednesday 24th March at 10:00 GMT. The session which will consider how UK grocers have responded to the challenges presented by Covid-19 will be hosted by Past International President, Paul Brooks.

As for many businesses, Covid-19 brought many challenges for the UK Grocery market in 2020. The UK grocers have responded with both new and innovative approaches to deliver an ongoing service for customers and create new opportunities. The session will focus on the expected legacy that will come out of 2020 and will share views of how the UK Grocery sector and its associated supply chains will change as a consequence.

Guest Speaker Craig Taylor FCILT, Group Logistics Director, Wm Morrisons Supermarkets plc will discuss UK Grocery in 2020 – Taking up the Covid Challenge. There were a number of significant challenges that Covid (lockdown) brought to all UK supply chains in 2020 and Grocery supply chains shifted rapidly to cope. This presentation will focus on how the ability to respond and the creativity of the supply chain teams has allowed successful delivery for customers and a lasting legacy of transformation.

Craig is a successful and experienced Senior Executive having undertaken a range of business roles, predominantly in supply chain management. Craig’s roots have always been in logistics, starting as a warehouse operative, and building from there a fruitful career in various companies including: Morrisons, Safeway, ASDA and M&S.

Our second Guest Speaker James Hurrell, Managing Director, Grocery and Consumer, Wincanton Plc will discuss UK Grocery in 2020 – Collaboration and best practice across FMCG. UK Grocery supply chains have been operating at ‘super peak’ for a lot of 2020 with collaboration between manufacturers and retail customers creating new dimensions in performance. The role of 3PLs has been key to successful outcomes and James will use case studies to bring this to life.

James is a dynamic managing director with over 17 years’ experience in third-party logistics. James has always been at the forefront of creating, delivering and leading strategic customer solutions both as a Vice President at DHL and now in his current role. He is a passionate leader on health and safety plus colleague wellbeing and is a champion of diversity in logistics operations.

The session will be hosted by Paul Brooks, Founder Go Further Consulting and Sales Development Director, Wincanton Plc. Paul was International President of CILT (2015/16) and has always been focused on the growth strategy for CILT globally. He was Chairman of CILT(UK) 2010 to 2013 and Chairman of the UK Logistics Skills Council for 8 years. A business development professional for over 35 years Paul remains passionate about using innovation to deliver world class partnerships. He is a recipient of The Pegasus Medal.
