Canada and the USA are now at the heart of the Covid-19 crisis. The border between the two nations is the longest unprotected border in the world but already the virus controls have meant changes. Whilst the movement of people has been heavily restricted in Canada, cargo and freight continue to move, and air freight has been an important element of that given the long distances between population centres. With passenger flights being limited this has led in turn to higher costs and less availability and there has been a switch to other forms of freight transport.
