Although many of our members and businesses in Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East are simply focusing on surviving the first onslaught of the virus and resultant business closures, in some countries they are looking to loosen the lockdowns, and begin supply chain operations again.

This will not be a simple return to normal, as protection and risk will have to be managed tightly to avoid the virus returning to areas that were thought to have been cleared. Key parts of the global network will remain closed or restricted, and new connectivity and supply routes will be needed. China has started on this journey and one or two countries such as Austria and Australia are beginning their own review of this. This CILT China paper opens this subject up for consideration.
