I am proud to have been an active member of CILT for over 20 years. I have enjoyed serving our Institute as Western Australia Section Chairman for 5 years and Australia National Vice Chairman for 3 years and I remain a member of the Australia National Professional Development Committee.  I became Australia National Chairman mid-April 2015.

As a  Civil Engineer with an MBA and PhD, my professional experience covers over 30 years in the public and private sectors – predominantly in the realm of transport infrastructure.   I have a particular interest in  providing an inclusive and holistic approach to infrastructure decision-making.

I find there is considerable synergy between CILT and my professional interests.  In particular that CILT is all-embracing – truly  multi-disciplinary, multi-sector and of course international.  CILT ‘opens one’s mind’ to the bigger picture and so to many and varied opportunities.

As a CILT International Vice President (IVP) I intend to extend the ‘reach’ of CILT by promoting integration of regional and international activities.  That is, to give effect to the notion that ‘we are stronger together’.  I have a particular interest in encouraging younger folk to join and actively participate in CILT and as an IVP am well placed to do so.
