I am delighted to be part of the Global WiLAT Steering Committee (GSC) as Vice Chairperson for South Asia. I started my journey with CILT 8 years ago as a Chartered member and have ever since been in the council. I co-founded WiLAT chapter in Sri Lanka 6 years ago and was the Founding Chairperson for 4 years. During this period I was able to launch WiLAT SL’s flagship “Ignite” mentoring program, which I was able to take beyond the shores of Sri Lanka as the Global coordinator for mentoring. I was also instrumental in launching CILT’s Corporate Partnership Program in 2011. I was a Vice Chairperson of CILT for 5 years before being elected in 2018 as the second female Chairperson of CILT in 27 years.
I am an engineer by profession with a Masters in food process engineering and a MBA. I worked for Unilever Sri Lanka for 19 years and was the former Director Customer Service responsible for supply chain before my early retirement to start my own consulting and lecturing career. I am a board member of Women’s Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WCIC) and a non-executive Director of Logicare Pvt Ltd. I consider my self a supply chain professional now actively promoting supply chain and logistics education in the country. CILT has given me a great platform to achieve this objective. My passion is to promote and attract more women in our industry and I actively engage in creating awareness, mentoring and coaching through close engagement with young women. I strive to make CILT an inclusive organization across industry sectors, groups and our very own WiLAT and YP Forum to create value to individuals, companies and to the country as a whole.
