Course Content

This is a two-year programme delivered through tutorials. The course reflects the need for co-operation between the academic and practitioners in the field of logistics. It combines academic theory with practice so that it develops the participant’s logistics competencies, which can in turn be transferred to the workplace. On successful completion of the first year, students are awarded an Advanced Certificate in Logistics and the Diploma at the end of year two.

YEAR 1: THE CILTI ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT & Supply Chain Management

  • Module 1: Introduction to Supply Chain Management.
  • Module 2: Logistics Management for superior customer service.
  • Module 3: Logistics and Warehousing.
  • Module 4: Logistics and Transport.

YEAR 2: THE CILTI DIPLOMA IN LOGISTIC MANAGEMENT & Supply Chain Management

  • Module 1: Logistics and Financial Management.
  • Module 2: Business Strategy and Marketing Logistics.
  • Module 3: Inventory/Production Planning, Procurement and Transport.
  • Module 4: Logistics and Human Resource Management.

THE ASSESSMENT AND EXAMINATION PROCESS

Each course will comprise 80 taught hours, divided between the 4 modules each year.

1. Students must complete a 2,500 word assignment at the end of each module.

2. On successful completion of all 4 assignments, students will sit a 2 hour written examination at the end of the year.

While the student’s overall mark will be calculated by adding his mark in all three elements: a pass mark of 50% in each of the three elements is also required.
