I am delighted to have been appointed as IVP.  I have been privileged to serve on the CILT Sri Lanka Council as Treasurer in 2004 and thereafter as Vice Chairman and Chairman between 2010 and 2014.

In my long career with John Keells Holdings PLC, Sri Lanka, I have been fortunate to have had in depth exposure to and practice in almost all major modes of international and domestic transportation over the past three and a half decades. As an island nation and a major regional transhipment hub for global container shipping, the expansion and development of the transportation and logistics industry is a cornerstone of Sri Lanka’s growth strategy and in which context, I am currently privileged to work with a team of professionals in the Ports and Terminals, Shipping, Bunkering, Aviation, Air Express, International Freight Forwarding, 3PL, Warehousing and Trucking businesses.

I see a growing need and opportunity for CILT to serve as a bridge linking professionals and practitioners in the public sector, private sector and academia within transport and logistics, with a particular emphasis on attracting young professional talent and greater female participation into the sector. I believe CILT globally and Sri Lanka as a Territory within the South Asia region, are well poised to achieve this and I look forward to contributing actively towards this in my role as IVP and a member of the International Management Committee.
